Trim the bellows a bit in 1/8" increments. Check fit. Repeat until snug/easy fit.

I have the stiffo-fernco like one with one rib.
I'm not sure what the SLP stuff is made of, but mine trimmed easily with an x-acto knife (use metal clamp as guide).

Also, make sure the lid is closed right. If the front of the lid is not fit right into the lower airbox piece the clips will keep popping up.

oh yeah, I know that...it is in there right, there is just too much pressure from the bellows pulling it up....thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it.

I don't understand the problem with the bellows.

I did however, have a problem with the latches not staying shut when the lid was new. The trick is to tuck the front lip of the lid inside the lower air box. (the front lip of the lid between the latches) Then fasten the latches. End of problem.

I used to have a Whisper lid and had the exact same problem.
My lid would'nt even fit on the lower airbox piece even with the
maf and bellows out of the way. I bought a clear TSP lid and it
fits perfect.

i had a TSP lid and it fits horrible. i had to pull off my lower air box assembly and sand it down where the neck of the air lid hits it. and its still a tight fit. i mean i like the lid and all but its been nothing bot problems trying to get it to fit. u figure someone would have a real nice set up by now. guess im gonna have to design something up in my engineering classes, keep an eye out for a UNCC designed LS1 air lid lol if i could do it i woudlnt sell it unless it was PERFECT....someone needs to do some more hw...slp is no good either IMO

How is the lid supposed to fit exactly...

Are the sides of the lid flush with the sides of the lower airbox, or does the lid kinda fit inside the lower airbox. My Whisper lid has a bow in it and I'm not sure if it's doing its job...

tsp lid with holley filter, perfect fit. I think you may be fighting the K&N or have a bad mold.

no b/s with the tsp lid & holley. just fit on perfect and it stays that way.

maybe tsp has better quality control, like actually testing each one on a lower box before shipping them out?

GUYS!

The front lip of any lid (between the clips) needs to placed inside the groove in the lower airbox. If it's not, it will continually "pop out".

checkout www.installuniversity.com 's lid install to see pictures of what I'm talking about.

I bet I fix this for someone everytime I go to the track.

What you can do Is take the lid assembly off w/ maf and bellows, then tighten them up (pull the hose all the way onto the maf, then put the maf back onto the TB, push the bellow all the way onto the TB. You would think that It could never reach the air box You are right, then what you do is unbolt the 4 airbox bolts let then clip the lid in and pull the airbox back into plave and bolt it down. Then everything will be tight.

My TSP lid "fit like a glove." It slid on perfect in all areas, it took me literally 5 minutes to install. No clips popping for me.
