Default Y-pipe crushed, need advice

Long story short, my y-pipe got crushed where it connects to the header. can a shop just replace the pipe with a new one for a temporary fix?

Here is a pic:

Default Hedman replacement 3" y-pipes for single cat LS1

if you looking for a good bolt-on replacement for a very low price you should take a look at the Hedman 3" y-pipe kit part# 17534
This y-pipe #17534 has a 3" ball and socket collector style.
Due to different collector design changes, be sure to double check collector style either ball and socket for flat flange gasket style before ordering a y-pipe. You should be able to get this y-pipe for about $130 or less!

I got the new peice welded in, it seems to work fine but my car seems to be a lot more quiet than usual. the replacement peice looks to be 2.5".

Would that make a difference in noise at all? Or am I just crazy.... lol

yes, lol. i'm not kidding though, the car is so much quieter and I have had a third party verify this in case my mind was messing with me.

I guess I'm just going to order a new ORY and be done with it.
