Default oil pan bolts

anyone know what them two long skinny bolts are for at the rear of the oil pan do they do anything?????

Yes! They attach the oil pan to the rear cover of the engine.

Most of the time stuff is there for a reason..we sure know if GM could cut cost of 2 bolts they would

M6x1.0x136mm. Yes, you do want them or you will have an oil leak.

yes my roomate broker the pass side one up in there so now what do i do any help?

If the head is broken off, chances are there is very little tension on the threads of what's left in there. What I would try it taking a long slender screwdriver that will fit up in there and try to screw the broken piece out. You'd be surprised how easily it may come right out.

I had broke off an oil pan bolt, but not the small ones in the back, anyway, I drilled it out a bit and tapped a slotted screwdrive in there and backed it out. It came out easy.
