Question Magnaflow Exhaust Questions

I was wondering how you Magnaflow owners like the system. I'm especially curious if any TA owners have pics with the system and/or sound clips on a more or less stock car? I'd love to hear it since there's a sale on it this week and I may buy it.

Wish I could help with the pics and sound clip, but all I can say is that it sounds GREAT! Looks sweet, too. Just imagine the stock T/A tailpipes on steroids! They look like a couple of cannons' staring at ya! It has a nice deep mellow tone at idle, and really wakes up at WOT!

I love it on my SS, its bone stock and sounds great. Very high quality system. I didn't like the tips at first, but they really look good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I've had about 6 different exhaust setups and headers and magnaflow was/is by far the best out of them all.

I really like mine, but that is on a 2001 SS. It is simple, clean, stainless and fully polished (which, since I don't have the TA style ground effects, shows itself more on the camaro) I picked mine up for $320 delivered.
It sounds great: deep, not overwhelming, no drone, excellent quality, excellent flow, but is a bit heavy.
It depends on your preference what you want it to look like... circular pipes in the TA exhaust reliefs? Your call. To summarize:
Budget (no reason to spend a lot on a cat back): Magnaflow or Hooker
Just won the lottery: GMMG
Ready to get your hands dirty: Loudmouth w/ Dynomax or Borla XR1

Ed, where did you get yours from at that price? Fast Toys is running a deal right now for $360 which is about $100 less than most places. If you didn't buy it from one of the sponsors just PM me.

another for the MagnaFlow. Before I switched to the true duals this is one of the best sounding exhausts I have heard, stock or not.

Yea I'm switching out my SLP loudmouth for a magnaflow because I'm gonna be getting LT headers very soon and run a ORY pipe. So I needed to get something nicer and quieter then the LM.

Does anyone have a magnaflow muffler on their T/A or SS that doesnt have headers and who basically has a stock setup? Wondering how they sound on a basic stock setup with cats.

Rocco1005 I had the exhaust on there before anything else, it sounded good. After the headers and the ORY it sounded GREAT You can't lose going with this exhaust.

Rocco...

Mellow, refined, a bit louder and deeper than stock. Powerful at WOT without irritating interior resonance
(The Bassani ORY goes on this weekend - too lazy to swap out headers for emissions in Cali + I don't have a garage at the apartment)

No, I'll just keep the stock catted Y and throw that thing on for smogging.
It's as much as I'm going to get into since I don't have a garage. Otherwise, I'd have Jet Hot LT's in there right now. I can swap out the Y pipe in the carport while the landlord's not looking.

you dont have any buddies with a garage or someplace you could install some LT's.

i might pick up some stock manifolds and Y if i cant get my LT's to pass.

I have a friend that has a small garage in his duplex - I might convince him to give me a hand with some LT's in the future.
Since I already have decent manifolds ('00+), and LT's have been known to cause a few headaches, I'm just going to keep it simple and do the ORY thing. Besides, I got a decent deal from a TByrne 'garage sale' on the 00+ Bassani for use with stock manifolds.

Anyone have any advice per deleting codes cheaply, or should I just suck it up and get some O2 sims?

i dont know if predator is vin specific but if its not maybe you can find someone locally who has it who can delete the code for you. see what a shop will charge to do it also? i have edit so i did it myself . also check the for sale forums here and ls1.com com. there are usually people selling o2 sims. ebay is another route also.
