air lid differences, early years vs later
#2
Seriously? No one can explain the slight differences that seperate 98-99 from the later years? It must be air hook ups or sensor location, I just want to know so that I can choose the one that will best suit. If some years have or don't have a provision for air or the IAT is in a different location. This is what I would like to know. Vendors? Anyone? Some of you guys sell this stuff so you have it on a shelf to look @ if need be.
Thanks, James

I beleive that the 99-00 cars had the airpump, which since your car doesn't have it, you don't need it since I'm guessing you're going with an aftermarket lid.
So all you need is the bottom section that bolts onto the radiator, and then the lid of your choice along with some type of tubing to connect it to our oval throttle body.

I have an 02 and it had an air pump. But i also had the blackwing lid. Which put the air pick-up in the lid in a different location from those big gay lookin lids with the extra chambers in them.
But to answer your question, there were two different kinds of lids, the regular one that looks huge due to the extra compartments behind it, and the SLP blackwing, which came on a few cars who had that option. The blackwing lid is the best that you can get as a stock option. Its pretty much like an aftermarket lid offered by the factory.
