Default Cold air Intake question ?????

What is the differance between the $250.00 dollar K&N intake and the $58.00 chrome ones that are offered ? I mean come on is there $200. worth of differance ? I have just the air Box without ram air and a K&N filter in it. I was thinking of changeing to a chrome one with the cone type filter but the price differance is scareing me? I mean to me it's just a tube to bring the air into the intake with less restriction. Right ??? What am I missing?

Come on guys someone should know the answer to this. I can get a chrome one for $67.00 shipped. But I'm not sure If it is worth it or not. Is there more to this than just a pipe and filter that brings the air to the MAF sensor and intake?
Are the K&N's worth $200more ??? I'm confused !!

I assume you have an LT1 car, so yes, get you a cone filter and make your own piping or buy the chrome one.
