Anybody with a pic of the Hooker 3" Y pipe?
Does anybody have a pic of the Hooker 3" Y pipe that fits their long tubes. I would like to see the collector.
I have a set of Pace Setter long tubes and would like to find a Y pipe that has a better collector than what Pace Setter makes. The two pipes welded together is not a collector.

I don't have any pics, but I had one. It doesn't have a true collector. The driver side pipe goes into the passenger side tube at an almost 90* angle, then the passenger tube ges back to the "collector"....
Looks EXACTLY like this y-pipe....
I would look into the Mufflex y-pipe, pictured here....

New Off Road Y Pipe for Hooker Long Tube that fit the LS1 F Body Cars from 1998 to 2002. This new Y Pipe is a Dual 3" to a 4" Flowmaster Racing "Y" Collector. This 4" Collector can be fashioned to a 3" Cat Back System ( All Brands ) using our R-300-400 Reducer

The Flowmaster Y collector is supposed to be the best design, but I think others have copied it. My problem is I can't find a 3" into 4" stainless steel Y collector. Spintech said they would make me one for "a price." I'm about to try making my own also for what they charge for these damn things. I've see $200 just for an aluminized mild steel Y collector, not even made into a Y pipe. As noted above, Mufflex makes some good 4 inch stuff, but not in stainless steel. Check with Dr. Gas also.

Brian (Brains),
Looks good and must flow pretty good if you are running 95 mph at the 1/8 with a full weight car. Thanks for sharing.
I like the Mufflex if it wasn't so expensive.

Actually Larry, I ran that ET/MPH with MACs that I put a flowmaster collector on We'll see what this setup runs at the clobberthon, but the whole car is a bit different now.. Bigger cam, 12 bolt rear, Hooker long tubes, better clutch. Still heavy as a Sherman tank...
BTW guys, thanks for not laughing at my welding skillz -- I only have a flux core welder right now

Mike, my Y pipe with headers gives the car better ground clearance than stock. To accomplish this, I used QTP headers with my SLP Y pipe, which put the Y pipe right against the floor pan on the driver side. To prevent banging, I cut a path through the floor pan reinforcements for the Y pipe. Then I welded new reinforcements on the top of the floor pan. They are under the carpet and not noticeable at all.
