Default LQ4 - Use 317 heads or 241 heads?

I've been offered to trade my 317 heads for some nice used 241 heads.. which will perform better on my motor?

Its swapped into a 77 Datsun 280Z and right now it has the poop LS1 intake, TSP 228R cam, and some headers. Where will this put my CR and how much power have people made with similar setups?

Thanks, Alex.

Default

It will bump your CR from about 9.4 to 10.0:1. The 317 heads are very similar to 243's port wise and will out flow the 241's slightly, but the bump in compression will net you more torque and power. I don't think it's worth the trouble of swapping unless you have some port work and a good valve job performed on the 241's.
