A/C is freezing up!
After driving my car for about 45 minutes with the AC on, it stops blowing as hard. If I turn the fan on high, you can hear the fan blowing, but the air just doesnt come out as hard. So, I popped the hood and noticed that my dryer has ice on it!. What does this mean? If I let it sit for a while, then turn the AC back on, it blow out on high until it freezes again...

If the dryer and / or evaporator are freezing up it is because:
1. You are low on freon.
2. The orifice tube is plugged and not letting enough freon through it to the evaporator side.
3. The pressure switch is bad and not allowing the compressor to cycle when the low side pressure gets too low.
The condensor being plugged will not cause the dryer to freeze up. It will cause the system to not blow cool air at all.
My 2000 Sierra PU did this same thing after running the AC for 30+ minutes. My problem was a plugged orifice tube. Easy fix if you have an AC cart. If not you will have to have someone with an AC cart evacuate the system, replace the O tube, vacuum system down, and then recharge. Good luck.

Woot! Took it to the shop and found out that we had put too much freon in it. So, we drained it and now it is perfect! We had around 40 lbs. in it and we drained it to 34 lbs.
