SS bogs down and dies when trying to do burnout?
I am having some trouble with my 2002 Camaro SS M6.I been practicing on my burnout for the track but I noticed every time I'm about to do it my car just bogs down and dies?I tried both ways dumping the clutch and hitting the break and the heel and toe method but its the same, but as soon as I let the brake go it will burn them down?I know my car has the power to do burn out but I just dont know why it's doing that?I give it enough gas too I put the gas pedal to the floor and it just dies?Need help. Thanks

This happened to me in the burnout box in my SS I wasn't thinking baout it when I shut the car off in the staging lanes and then started it back up for my run and backed into the water, pulled up a bit, shifted into 2nd (since I have 4.10s, to get the RPMS), revved, dumped the clutch, floored it and ppplpht...stall! I did it twice before I realized what was happening; god did I feel like a damn idiot!

Thats the problem I dont have traction control on my car at all. This is how it is out of 6 burnout attempts only 2 been successful?I have another question do you think my brakes are grabbing to much I put the ebc drilled and slotted rotors with hawks pads about 4 months ago maybe to much grip?I really dont think it's that I know the car has the power to do it, but also like I said if its bogging down and I let go of the brake quick it will jump right up and light them up.My tires are not even that good I have street tires which have about 30% left.

I also tried it in the rain and it still does it.But when ever I did do those two burnouts I could give it more gas and the rpm would go higher and if I let some off and got on it again it will accelerate more like a normal burnout.

I tried that too I thought maybe I was pressing to much on the brake so I tried again and barely was holding it down and it still boged down

Line lock is a good suggestion. Here's another one... Find someone you know who knows how to do a burnout. Tell them to do one in your car to see if it's your car that's the problem, or if it's just you doing it wrong.

Alright everyone I think I found out the problem.I think my ebc rotors drilled and slotted with hawks pads are just grabbing to much and I wasn't giving it as much gas know with this brake setup so it just bogged.I reved it up to 3500rpm and dumped it and hit the brake and was able to pedal it.See before with my stock brakes and rotors I could do burnouts at 3000 rpm but know I cant.

i never even thought that you did not rev high enough lol
every burnout i have ever done was dropping it at 4500 +
but i also work the brake and gas with one foot
