Default Removed air pump now vent controls not working

I removed the air pump and that little pump thing in back of the driver side valve cover and now my vent contols do not work. The only thing that works are the floor controls and the defroster. I know the controls are vacumn operated so did I unplug something that i shouldn't have or what. And where is the vacumn located at for the hvac controls so I can trace it. Thanks

The vacuum line that you probably knocked the vacuum line loose that goes to the heater. It stars at the back of the intake manifold near the MAP sensor and runs toward the passenger side. There is usually a T connector back there, one side to the manifold, one to the heater and one to the air pump controller thingy. It may be that you simply pulled the air pump hose out and now there is just an open end so the heater can't get it's vacuum. On my car, I replaced the T connector with a L shaped one because there is only one vacuum line needed when the air pump part is removed.

When I removed mine. the "little thingy" on the back on the drivers side of the engine had a vaccuum line going into it. I plugged it with a rubber cover. That HVAC stuff is vaccuum operated, so you must have accidently unplugged something, or you may need to plug the line i did.

Hope this helps,
Aaron

Thanks Jorday and Heavy Metal.
I don't know if I should post this but maybe If I would have started my motor knowing the HVAC works off of vacumn every thing would have worked fine. I was switching my heater controls with the car not running. Man do I feel like an *** clown! Thanks again.
