Red face cuting exhaust welds??? help!!!

hey guys i got a question.
if i have 2 exhaust pipes that are slip fit over eachother and there welded and i want to seporate them buy cuting around the weld would they come apart?
i know that it would take a wile to do it but is it possible?

Cut through the weld bead with a cut off wheel. Use an angle grinder if needed to finish knocking down the excess weld and metal. You might need to use a heavy duty carbide cutter in a die grinder to get the inside pipe out.
