Default LS6 Intake Manifold

On my 98 SS i am thinking about put on the LS6 intakr manifold? Good idea or what? horsepower gains?

LS6 intake is a great mod especially if you do a cam in the future.

SOTP wise i felt nothing from this part but theres no doubt i benefited from it.its a good mod if youre adding headers and a cam.

with heads cam there is a definate gain. even on stock heads, even though some people would have you believe otherwise

just dont forget the new coolant tubes if you get it and the block of plates for your headers after removing your egr system.

it gives about the same power gains as a lid. 8 - 10 hp. On my car anyway.

so far, 12.8 on a hot humid day. So 12.5 is realistic on a cooler dry day.

my car always varies 2 - 3 tenths, 3 mph depending on weather.

I have a friend on a Gm dealer and he find for me an Ls6 core intake on a car who changed it for warranty.When i put it in my car completely factory i inmediately noticed a differece in performace.I use it on my 98 SS m6.Just my .02 cents.

Definitely a worthwhile mod. If you're planning on heads/cam in the future, its a must.
