duel pipe size
If I wanted to go over the axle with duels I read that it would have to be 2 1/2" not 3". Would I see a worthwhile gain going with 3" and dump before the axle? The reason i want to go over the axle is because I drive my car every day its not snowing. I don't like the idea of having the exhaust coming out under the car.I don't plan on doing heads, just the hotcam and boltons. I know it will probly be a pita but I'll try to make the exhaust myself too.
I'm going to get pacesetters so the collecter is 3". Should I go 3" through the x-pipe and 2 1/2" after or just 2 1/2" right from the headers? Another reason to go with 2 1/2 is then I can use the stainless works chambered mufflers. THey don't offer them in 3" , but I can get 2 1/2". The mufflers are 24" long so I'll probly have them between the x-pipe and the axle. Would cutouts off each header help if I go with chambered mufflers while at the track?
Another reason to go 2 1/2" is that my car is already lowered 1 1/2".
