Default What PCV system do i need to go with?

I have a 98 z28 with a 408. the motor is not running yet but Im not sure if the stock pcv setup is doable with this big of a motor. Im assuming Im going to need a catch can right? How do the hoses need to be routed and can I use a breather?

I also have the 98 valley cover with a fast intake and NW 90mm tb.

My main concern here is will i still be able to use my 98 valley cover and run a PCV system with a catch can? I really would rather not have to remove my intake.

Yes, you can use any catch can with any valley or no valley cover. Its just hoses that do all the work.

I have no more oil entering my intake, period. All ports capped off. No catch can, nothing. Doing an experiment thats been working perfectly for 3 weeks so far.

Oil going back into the intake is just ridiculous. Can't believe that was ever designed.

Whats the use in buying a ctach can if your gonna still use that green hose going from the valve cover to the bellows. Oil will be going into the intake.
Run the front valve cover port inline with the other one BEFORE they both go into the PCV valve. Just have the hose that connects to the other port on the intake behind the TB.

It's based on valve covers and valley cover. Which valley cover do you have?

You can connect the rear lines, matter of preference. The flat end of the PCV valve will always face INTO the engine crankcase.

Flat side = (Crankcase fumes in) out of the crankcase
Nipple = (Crankcase fumes out) into the intake

Im about to start my car for the first time im going to have a problem with the pcv system. I had 98 valve covers and then got centerbolt ones but i still have the rear pcv thing on the rear of the driver valve cover. problem is that it does not fit onto the new valve covers so now i have no way of hooking up the pcv or anything.

Whats a temporary solution so i can start the engine in this situation? would it be ok to run it with out any of the holes covered up?

Do you have a hole or nipple on the drivers rear VC? I wouldn't start the engine with these open as it will allow for external contaminates to enter the engine.

There is nothing on the rear of the driver side valve cover. I have nothing to cover it with. the old nipple from my perimeter bolt valve covers does not fit onto the new centerbolt covers.

I called the dealership to see if I could another one from them and they told me that they dont sell that part individually. I have to order a completely new drivers side pcv system in order to get the one part.

So does anyone know where exactly I can get one of these? I also need something i can temporarily cover the hole with so i can start the engine.

I was in a similar boat as you.

When I swapped intakes, I put on an LS6 valley cover.

Fortunately, it had a nipple blocking it off in the box...I took that and used it to cap off the back of my drivers side cover.
