Default bracing required for solid motor mounts??

my friend was telling me that you need to install sub-frame connectors and all that before you put solid mounts on, or you will tweak or crack your frame. is this is any way true?? Also, is it bad to run solid motor mounts and the stock rubber tranny mounts???

If it was my friend, I'd smile, nod, and happily install my solid motor mounts without subframe connectors.

As for running the rubber transmission mount - that I probably wouldn't do on my car. The transmission has enough mass behind the engine and is far enough away from it that I would want it a little better supported - at least with a poly motor mount since it has less give to it than the rubber piece. But that's just my back-yard engineering at work - I don't have solid motor mounts, so I can't say what you should do about the trans mount since I have no experience with them.

sfc's aren't necessary but always a good idea in a uni-body car.

and I would run the rubber tranny mount with solid motor mounts.... That's what I have on my car right now. a stiffer tranny mount might make a little bit too much vibration.
