Default exhaust tick

i recently installed mac mids which were freshly ceramic coated along with the mac ory. i now have a ticking noise when the engine is under load. it is more noticeable with the windows up but its definitely there with the windows down too. it seems like it is coming from the driver side area in front of me not underneath me. i checked the header collectors with the engine running and there was no exhaust coming out of there and the connections are very tight. it seems like it is coming from the headers. i tried to tighten the headers but it didnt do anything. i reused the stock gaskets with 56k miles on them. should i have gotten new gaskets?

Headers usually tick by nature.

As long as theres no leaks at the collector (which you should be able to hear with the hood open) than I'd say its normal.

theres no leak at the collector i felt around it with the engine running. but there has to be a leak somewhere because if i put my head near the passenger side header i dont hear the tick its only near the driver side header.

Mine made a ticking sound when I put them on too. No leaks here either. Just the nature of the beast.

Don't worry man, mine does the same thing. I did full exhaust all the way back, and once the car is warmed up it ticks all the damn time. I checked everything a bunch of times and there is nothing wrong. i welded the exhaust all the way back from the collectors on the headers and there are no leaks. Its just from the bigger exhaust and the heat cycles of the engine expanding the metal. thats the conclusion i came to. really annoying though!!
