Default different length dipstick tubes???

My stock dipstick tube recently got ruined so I went and bought another one from the dealership. after installing it i noticed it looked shorter. sure enough i compared them and it was. the dipstick said the oil was about 2-3 quarts over filled lol. anyway i called the dealership and they said that it was the right one. can anyone shed any light on this??

take the old one to the dealer. could be that gm changed designs or manufatures or something. you may need to change the tube also.

I believe the LS1 Corvette stick was shorter, so they may have given you that one instead.
