HELP- no oil press after ls6 intake
ok, so i swapped on an ls6 intake and now the gauge is showing 0 oil pressure... car sounds good and runs good, but gauge shows no pressure
when the car was running and i hit the throttle body quick i heard the sound of a rush of air then the car revved up, when the car was shut down i heard the sound of something like a metal ball rattling around in the throttle body for 1 second
- i had this same thing happen at the track when my egr blockoff plate blew off at the track- vacuum leak= no oil pressure?
but i cant find a vacuum leak and the car isnt throwing any codes
WHATS MY PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT?
- i think i Might have pressure, the gauge just isnt reading any

Did you hook the sending unit back up after the install? You do not have to remove the intake to replace that sender. It's not a fun job but can be done with the intake in place. Where are you on the Long Island?

^ Like he said, make sure the connector is plugged into the sending unit. I had the same thing happen when the shop installed my Fast 90 intake, had 0 oil pressure, I checked to see if it was connected, and it wasn't plugged the connector back in and everything was fine.

It is directly in the center of the intake on the backside just reach back there and you will feel it. If it is plugged in and just broken you can find a new one at WS6store (sponsor!) for way cheaper like 35 bucks I think.

based off this picture- http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...ressender2.jpg
i was able to reach behind the intake and pull the whole black piece out and there is an orange gasket on the bottom of it- definitely broken or can that be pushed back in?

"Did you happen to break off the oil pressure sender behind the manifold when doing an intake swap? Or perhaps your sender is bad? Replace it with a genuine GM part."
So yeah, this is VERY common. You wont do it again, haha. I think weve all done it once....
