Default Guide pins For block to trans alignment

Just had my LS1 Rebuilt and picked up a 4L60e

Was going to bolt the two togeather, but there are no guide pins...

I just picked up a set of guide pins from the dealership.

Question is, can I tap these pins into the block? or will I have to have them pressed in? Seems like tapping them in could be a little dangerous on the aluminum block, but I figured I could save alot of time and effort if I could just tap them in. Thanks

Just lightly hit them in. Don't use a sledgehammer or anything like that.

yeah, and you want to go in from the back to the front. so standing under the car looking towards the front. and like mentioned just tap it with a hammer.

I dont see why you couldn't put a little motor oil on them to lube them up going in
