True Duals

True Duals
Hi i have an 02 ss camaro and i was thinking about putting true duals on it. I did the search on the site and the way i understand it is that these cars were not designed to be ran with true duals? So ive also searched the internet and no true dual kits exist.
So am i suppossed to have an exhaust shop do it custom for me? And is the x pipe necesary? If yes what is better for hp? H or x pipe?

if you ask me, a good exhaust eliminates the need for a stereo. if you've got time, a bit of money, and a good local shop you can make a custom true dual set and the x pipe is worth the extra money and trouble.

MOST exhaust shops will tell you it is impossible to go out the back with TDs on our cars..
Hell, most wont even do TDs before the axle..
You can get TDs before the axle for less than 400$.. depending on what mufflers and what not you go with..
Expect to pay about that to go the rest of the way out the back, in all you would be looking at any where from around $700-$1k to go all the way back..
As for the HP question, X-pipe will make more power but only marginally, as in 5 or less RWHP.. You have the decide if you like an H-pipe or X-pipe sound more.
ms4 cam
pacesetter LT's with customer 2.5" X-pipe w/ 1 Chamber Race FM's before the axle... sounds
Sound clips follow:
Turn it up a little bit for this one..

^^^^^I actually had a shop install my headers, fab the x-pipe, and I bought piping from them, and had them run it out back (under the axle) for a grand total of $300, on the Camaro. Pretty sweet deal. lol. Needless to say, that's where the T/A's going to get it done sometime soon, hopefully.

*MOST* places would charge that to just fab the Xpipe and weld it onto the xpipe, if you can find one to even do that.
It is much easier to go under the axle, but there are a lot of shops that wont do that either.. this is the more "high" class shops i guess?
I actually like the way it looks just make sure you bolt it somewhere instead of welding so you can drop your rear if need be.
