Default 6 speed automatic conversion

I have a 1975 Corvette with an LS1 and a 1998 Firebird ECM. Right now I have a Turbo 400, and am thinking about converting it over to the new six speed automatic. The motor is set up with Street and Performance motor mounts, so it could be set up for a 4L60E. The rear end gear is 3.08. I was just wondering what all would be involved in converting it over. I think for one thing I would have to set up a paddle shifter. Also what might be some cars I would want to keep my eyes open for for a donor.

Agreed. You will have to have a 6 speed auto pcm for sure to control it. I do not think you will have to have the paddle shifters since they are a secondary shift option; if you put the shifter in D it will still operate like an automatic.
