Default What is the baddest sounding true dual setup?

I am thinking about going to true duals over my Hooker LT's ORP, and Loudmouth. I have Absolute Speed stage 2 5.3's and a 230/236 cam. I was wondering if the swap would be worth some HP and some bottom/mid range TQ?

A main concern is the sound. I have the Loudmouth now and it sounds badass with the heads and cam. The lope to the cam is awesome...very noticable...and nothing holding it back. I want to make sure that if I did it...the duals will perform...but also sound as sick at idle and all through the RPM range, especially wot, as the loudmouth did. I don't want the loud/lopey idle to be muffled if at all possible...want it to be as clear as day!!

So what do you think?? Will the duals add performance, and will it sound as ridiculous as the Loudmouth? I like the drag car volume!!! And the Pro Stock lope to the cam!!

The tried and true "true duals" with bullets and an x-pipe sounds like it's right up your alley. Don't worry, it'll be as loud as it gets while still using mufflers.

I would say duals with no crossover.. and some bullets or something. perhaps a 1 chambered muffler with a baffle or something.

What is going to give me the most power with big cubes...in terms of muffler selection. And what size pipe for big cubes 2.5-3.0???

What about for the time being...with just the heads and cam done?

I love my bullets, some of the same raw sound you want, with just a little mellowing. I didn't think the one-chamber Flowmasters sounded any better than bullets. They sounded good, just not better in my opinion.

You could try PM Blue2kSS he has a really nice setup. Its nice and calm in normal driving but its insane at WOT. Offaxis has a really nice setup too, there's a sound clip in the other true dual thread.

Buy some SLP resinators and put them where bullets would go.

3" duals ... x-pipe ... and dumps ... ***** to the wall ... screw those pesky mufflers; the x-pipe will do enough quieting for you ... holy CRAP that would be a nasty setup

If you want the meanest sound I don't think I would do the X though.. I think the X tends to raise the pitch a little.

Pro stock johns car with straight pipes and 1 baffle mufflers sounded bad ***...

My car has an X pipe and has a little higher note to it.
