Default LT Flowtech w/ 2.5" ory vs Kooks w/ 3" ory

I have 1 3/4" flowtech black painted LT with a [B]2.5" Y-pipe without cats, I was wondering how much can i gain if i change to Kooks 1 3/4" and the kooks 3" y- pipe without cats. I have stock exhaust system since i have read that i wouldnt gain to much since my car is an 2001 WS6, and it comes with a good exhaust system.

The mods of my car are: 212/218 114, LS1 heads (a bit ported), ported TB, LS6 intake(stock), slp intake, FLT level 4 trans, yank 3200 stall. Tuned with EFilive, and will retuned with the new staller and also if neede when changing the LT

Wow, we have an extremely similar combo. I have a larger cam, and was wondering the exact same thing today. Hopefully someone can chime in.

honestly you'll probably gain more by going with a better exhaust.

hell just do a cutout.

but i can't imagine there is much to gain from a header swap. 5hp?

probably not a significant amount....dual 2.5" pipes still flow more than a single 3" pipe that the rest of the exhaust is made out of.

However, this Flowtech Y blows. It's not mandrel bent, and the actual Y junction is more of a T.
