spark plug gap?

Default spark plug gap?

i'm about to buy some spark plugs. what should i gap them to? originally i read that the gap was suppose to be @ .060

just a little while ago i read that gm later recommended the gap to be @ .040?

I just replaced mine not to long ago and gapped at .060 runs like a champ.

i got nkg tr55s and i just stuck em in there without changing the gap

The .060 gap for NGK or any platinums has not changed - the gap for the new AC Delco or any iridiums is .040.

so if i got some iridiums i should leave the gap at .040?

a part search on NGK's site, and the part stores has changed from TR55's at .060, to TR5's at .040. i do not know the reason for this.

I just finished changing mine to TR55s and gapped them to .055 started right up and no problems driving.

from what i know the tr55's and the tr5's are the same plug just different gaps out of the box.
tr55's are set around .55 and the tr5's are set at .40

I think the TR55's come gapped at .050. I change it to .055 and it runs fine.
