Look at this pic: the AIR pipes enter about 1/2" in the exhaust.
Is it normal? Looks so strange to me....
This is a pair of TTS LT headers for my 98 TA.

looks strange...my pacesetters arent like that...that would be very turbulent.

mmh... should I grind them out to get the AIR ends close to the inner wall of the pipe? A Dremel should fit.
Just hope the TTS aren't a POS!!!

I asked the same question when I got mine. I believe they do that so you don't burn out the check valves in the air system. It does add a bit of turbulence, but saves the check valves. If you grind them down you will ruin the hot coat in that area. I would call TTS first.

I called TTS today: the A.I.R. pipes are that long to allow better air-mixing into the exhaust gases. The highest gas velocity is in the middle of the pipe, the fresh air has to be injected right there.

Makes sense to me!
