Default Header Install

Im putting headers on my 98,Camaro SS 6spd. Want to know everything I will need to do this job correct. What is the "best" combo out there right now? headers, Y-pipe,gaskets,bolts,motor mounts ect... if needed. Car is mostly stock with GMMG chamber system & Whisper lid & Hurst billet plus shifter. Will be changing spark plugs too, what are the best ones? Looks like the KOOKS 1 3/4 headers put out some good HP but lm new at this and want to do it right the first time. Want to keep the GMMG. Thanks for the help!

if your not on a budget i would definetly go with QTP or Kooks. if the money is a little tight i would go with the Pacesetters.....just installed a set on my 2000 TA last saturday and love them.

QTP is a sponsor on this site and their banner is in the list to the right.....as far as the hardware goes, most if not all of the companies ship it with the headers....i couldn't be happier with the sound it turns heads like you wouldnt believe...i have a 3" cut out that has to go in yet too ...good luck with whatever choice you make.

I ordered some kooks the other day. I am very interested in a good outline for installing these babies. I remember reading a good write up not to long ago, but can't seem to find it. I tried running a search on "header install", but had no luck.

Can one of our resident experts give us a good procedural outline for installing headers. Your reply would be most appreciated. Thanks.

If you are getting cats, make sure that they are high flow.
