I have the same thing and so do a bunch of other owners. Unfortunately, no one knows what it is. I've searched for years and asked the same question. I've read all kinds of different possibilities, but not one of them has identified or solved the issue. It's got to a point where hardly anyone even replys to these questions. Wish I could help you 'cause that would mean I fix my problem as well. If you figure it out, you'll be the first. Best of luck... really.

I had a bad rattle on near the right rear too. Ive got SLP LM1 sometimes the exhaust mount would push the rubber out of the mount on the car and the metals would rub together. I would push the exhaust back and put the rubber back where it belongs. So yeah i agree with 350 WS6 check the exhaust. Hope this helps.

Believe it or not, but my antenna was loose.
No more rattle.

yea things like this are impossible for anyone to tel you what it is...i had an anoying rattle and it turned out to be a penny under my carpet!!! how unhead of is that? i removed my rear seats so that little opening in the carpet where the lower bucket would bolt thru is the spot the penny entered and fromthere i pulled it out.

other than that ur best bet is lifting the car keep the rear suspension loaded and bang bang bang away see if you can locate the noise

Sounds to me like the over the axle pipe just rattles whatever the hell it can, causing different things for different people.just got to hunt it down and figure it out.

Alternatively you could just get a louder exhaust with a bigger cam....

i have the same problem, i think its the over alex pipes it was hitting my heatsheild so i bent the heat sheild that fixed that one. but now it looks like it is hitting the suspesion because my over axle pipe is close to the axle suspension and i noticed there is a big *** dent ? and it seems like my magnaflow has some drone(but dont remember drone when i first put it on back in april?) in my a4 car at 1500 rpm could this dent in the pipe cause this ?

I actually put the car up and started it. Before passing out on the exhaust fumes, I found out that the I-pipe was resting against the frame. Now I'm wondering how I can fix it. >.<

And usually where the rattle comes from is the piece of pipe that goes over the rear. is your exhaust welded or bolted together?
