Default Stock cubes - FAST 90 or LS6 intake upgrade?

I know this issue has been discussed before, i did a search and couldn't find the exact answer to this question. I've heard that i could possibly even lose hp from gettin a FAST intake cause it's too much intake for a stock cube car. Will I gain a little, alot or nothing at all by gettin the FAST 90/90 setup over the LS6? And if i do go LS6 should i get a new TB or port my existing one? Thanks.

you can lose hp with the FAST. loss is top end, which is where all the LS1s power is. get the LS6 with a stock P/P TB and call it a day

Get the LS6 intake if you are just doing bolt on sutff right now. My understanding is that the FAST is for H/C cars that can benefit more from the greater amount of air getting dumped into the motor.

I wouldnt think you would lose any with the FAST, just most of your gains will be in the higher RPM range. I have a FAST 90 on my stock cube motor, and i havent had it dyno tuned, but i havent lost any low end, but did gain in the high end. I think with dyno tuning, it would be a huge improvment, i just dont have the money right now.

The gains claimed by FAST on the box are on a stock LS1, they claim 20hp gains vs the LS1 intake

haven't really seen dyno proof either way on a bolt on car.

i know my cam only car picked up 18hp/12ftlbs peak, and never lost power from 3000rpm and up....over my LS6 and ported TB.

another guy on here picked up similar amounts over an LS2 intake on his LS2 crate engine...so basically a bolt on engine.

if you ever plan to go cam or heads....and you have the chance. its a worthwhile upgrade.
but i'd def put other things on my list of things to get first

I should add the only reason i bought the FAST 90 was i got a good deal on it from the guy i bought my car from. $500 for the fast 90 seamed pretty reasonable

Are you trying to say you'll lose top end power with a fast

OP I don't think anyone has a back to back dyno between a LS6 and a 90/90 on a stock longblock but there have been some track comparisons and there was no loss, but not much if any gains either. I highly doubt you will lose ANY power or torque switching to a 90/90, many of the quickest SI cars have it.

Ok so I just re-read the title and noticed you just said stock cubes lol. So even on a stock short block you will see huge gains on a H/C setup and even nice gains on a cam only car. So if your talking about heads or a cam, the FAST will outperform the LS6 without a doubt.

Your only gonna benifit from a Fast 90 if you have the mods to support it like head and a Cam.... The LS6 intake is a great intake and flows even better than the LS2 intakes which are larger.... If you plan on modding the motor go with the Fast 90 if you want more power. But the LS6 intake should do fine, Ive seen guys make 500+whp with a LS6 intake and Ported TB, With full boltons obviously.....

Ok, good answers, I'm gonna be goin just bolt on's for another year or so until i get the cash, then i wanna drop an iron block and go FI. This might be a dumb question but can u use a FAST 90/90 with a FI setup? If so, i might as well get the FAST now, if not then i'll just pick up an LS6.

I would get the FAST if you plan on doing h/c and supporting mods.
