I think i read the 1st couple of years of the ls1 camaro {97/98} had a smaller diameter cable pull. I think the quicker ratio would be more comfortable for my setup. My gas pedal has to be bent out so far to get WOT that it's not comfortable on long drives. http://silviav8forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1565

The trucks and early F-bodies use a smaller pulley
but they all have the same draw length to full-open.
You're not going to fix a cable or pedal problem by
swapping.

98-99 fbodys use the smaller more round throttle cam. The newer ones use a cam that makes the TB open slower (in relation to the pedal) at first then come on more at the end. That way it's not as touchy in light throttle situations.

There's no benefit to having the older one. If you need more throttle response just push the pedal down farther. Plus you'd have to get a new cable as well. The older cables are too short to fit the new ones, and the newer cable is too long for the old ones.

Just too update, a friend picked up a throttle body with a smaller throttle cam at the salvage yard. I'm not sure what it came off of but i swapped the shaft too my throttle body since i had already ported the one i had. This allowed me to drop the gas pedal about a 1" so how my gas pedal isn't higher than my brake pedal. I did have too redo my throttle cable, luckily i had a spare from my parts car.
