Default To the doubters of dual cut outs..

Here is a overlay of my last dyno session. I think the TR236 reverse split really like the dual cut outs..Closed vrs Open dual cut outs..

Here are some pics of the set up.. Exhaust

Given there are cats when through the exhaust, I still think it is a great gain. Plus it is quite as can be sealed up..

Nice, I love seeing actual results for products!

I've been a firm believer in the cutouts when I put one on my IROC and it went from 12.39 @ 109.5 to 12.17 @ 111.98 with NO other changes and similar weather.

Just a note: The way the cut-outs are installed causes exhaust gasses to slam into itself when the cut outs are not in use. Your exhaust design will show max results of the cut out... but hey...cool with me.

Really.. Would you mind explaining how my system is any different in the way most cut outs are placed in the y-pipe? They exit on the 45* portion as well using the straight tube to the exhaust.

Wow, I saw that pic totally wrong....thought the full exhaust was going through the "45 degree side". Sorry for the bad eyes and false statement.

I saw zero gain on the track with my single cut out open...and this was on QTP stainless headers with factory tail and muffler. Looks like dual cut outs is the way to go. I made 11 runs that day...no noticeable difference. For the record, I will have cutouts on the turbo set up cause I do beleive in them, just want anyone interested to know my personal results at the track . Get two, not one like I did.

That is correct. But keep in mind, it is a dual cut out set up before the cats. I'm sure the cats are a bitrestricting..

You have the stock exhaust, right? How much would those gains be on a more free flowing exhaust?

WOW!!!! That setup is sweet!!!! Is the dyno graph dual compared to single, or dual compared to none? Also, how much did it cost to have those turndowns fabbed up? Nice jon man!

I love cuttouts. I have a single electric cuttout in the Y-pipe and picked up 28 RWHP with it open. From 395 to 423. That's due in large part to my running the stock muffler.

Mine is not a stock muffler. I have a hooker Aeromax muffler which is supposed to be a very free flowing muffler. I think the main restriction in my exhaust is the cats.

Ferocity02,
The whole customer y-pipe was around $300 not including parts. That included all the turn downs. There was a lot of engineering to get that all to fit. If you ever interested in the shop that did it, drop me a line. I know you live with in a few hours of me.

Sweet man,

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing. The cutouts immediately after my collectors in place of my (now removed) RT cats.

What gains do you think I'd pick up on my motor, HP/TQ?

As you can see there were very good gains made over my cats/through the y-pipe and muffler. However, I know I bought not so great flowing cats. I did that because I know I didn't need great cats the way I was setting it up.

Under the curve you see 22hp and 24flbs and like 10-12 at peak on my set up. Since you had better flowing cats than me I would expect less gains but possibly 7-8 at peak and 15 under the curve..

Got a video of that bad boy. I must say there is a lot of work and money invested into that ypipe.
