Exhaust tip size, does bigger diameter make louder sound or not?

Also, ive got a firehawk and i believe the inlet diameter for the exhaust tips is 2 1/2 but im not sure. Would a 2.25 inch inlet on an exhaust tip work?

I say yes. A GMMG chambered exhaust has a completely differnt sound with round tips than the otional oblong oval tips.

Yes, after trying many different tips (and exhaust systems in general) on MANY different cars/motors, I would say it does make it louder....
