Default what hp output should i get with this?

so a buddy of mine is modding up. vehicle is a A4 z28 with an ls1 manifold. not the ls6.. anyways... current mods are k&n filter(stock lid) some muffler(muffler only) minor suspension mods.. (phb and i think he has subframe connectors too)... anyways... mods are gonna be... pacesetter longtubes, off road y, elec. cutout, ls6 manifold, new plugs/wires, lid + smooth bellow, cold air box, 30 lbs svo injectors and tune.... what hp should he see to the crank? to the wheels? what about possible 1/4 mile times? im sure a lot of people on here have similar mods so just thought we could get an idea here... thanx

he should consider getting a converter, that would really wake up his A4. check the auto trans section there are tons of posts.

Pretty close to my mods, I would say about 330 to 335 to the wheels. Tell him to skip the injectors, it would be a waste of money. He wont need them and they are just a hair bigger then stock. Should touch high 12's. As said look into a converter, that will be my next mod and should place him in the mid to low 12's.

injectors are total waste at that level

good converter could drop .3-.5sec off the quarter mile time....

which is a better purchase? you call it

yeah.. thanx guys... i think hes gonna go with a converter... is there such a converter that will allow easy everyday driving and ONLY rev to like a 3000-3200 when i am ready to race? or do all converters shift at whatever the rpm is set to them? what are some good brands out there and what would be too high of a stall for a DD car....a little confused on this lol... any advice is appreciated... thanx...

the converter will just slip till it gets up to the stall rpm. the shift points are controlled by the tune and shouldnt be changed by the converter. a 3k stall atleast or somewhere around there should be good for dd and racing. Most of the cars ive driven are stick so im not too familiar with the good brands but i sure someone has more input

TCI is one of the worst guy. OP, stall converters will slip to the desired RPM allowing you to get into the powerband quicker. It will also multiply the torque higher then the stocker. Along with this you will see a better shift extension as in the RPM will drop less during shifts. Good brands to looks for would be Yank, Circle D, and Fuddle. Some people may vouch for others but I can't speak to much about them.

I have a Vig3600 with a shift kit. Also install a tranny cooler just for cheap insurance. Ive had my setup for over two years, never any problems and by far the biggest improvement in ET reduction mod I've ever done

Invest in drag radials after you get a torque converter. With DR's and light mods I could dead hook everytime, not even a chirp. After the TC, i just roast the tires in first. I have to roll into the throttle off the line now.

The converter was the coolest and best bang-for-the-buck mod. The best part is that if you're driving on the street, it's very hard to tell it's even there to passengers. It's a very stealth mod.
