help on a set of 241 heads

Default help on a set of 241 heads

well ijust recently purchased a set of 241 heads and i want to mill them down to 60cc's or if possible 58cc's. how many .xxx would be the 60cc? same goes for the 58cc's thanks!

Rule of thumb is .007" for every cc, 241s are 67cc stock so 7cc x .007" will get ya 60cc or better.

as long as you dont take off more than .030, u should still be ok.
any more can cause heads to intake alignment issues.

how many cc's will milling .030 be?
i was thinking about milling .045, how many cc's will that put me at?

if you really want to get to 59 58 cc get a set of 243 heads.

If you were to mill a set of 241 heads .030 that will give you roughly 60cc. Like said above you will have troubles of the intake runners lining up with the intake ports on the heads. Also if the heads were to warp you would be up ***** creek, since there is not much more to mill off. You can always go to a smaller head gasket to if you are trying to raise your combustion ratio.

243 milled heads with thinner gasket will be better for lowering scr.
or even 5.3 heads milled with thinner gasket.
i wont and have never taken off more than .030 of any oe ls head.
can it be done? sure.
but i dont want to machine manifold also for minimal scr increase.
