I believe GMHTP magazine had the same problem when they did their bolton article. I think they said they had to replace the tensioner. I think you may need a different sized belt.

I had this exact problem. I got in there with a straight edge, and it looked like the alternator pulley was out of line. We removed the ASP alternator pulley, and put it on a flat surface next to the stock pulley, it was one rib to tall. It was throwing the belt about every 50 miles or less, and chewed up one edge of it.

If nothing is wrong with the pulley being seated properly, and you have the right belts on there, it's probably your tensioner pulley. Buy a Larry pulley with a taller lip and it should stop your belt throwing woes.

I had same prob. w/ 2 sources of prob.

1. - thrown belt - ASP pulley loosened
-Pulley reinstalled correctly

2. Belt thrown again - Stock belt tensioner replaced (I used a new stocker, but Katech highly recommended).

Probs gone.

Make sure the pulley is seated properly. In addition, make sure the crankshaft seal is also seated properly to ensure that the pulley can be seated properly...
