Default Ypipe brace question

My ypipe keeps banging on the tunnel brace and was wondering if it would be safe to remove this brace? The only thing that concerns me is that this is also the only brace under the car in case something were to happen to the driveshaft. Anyone ever have a driveshaft issue, and if so what happened and how much power is/was your car making?

Usually people running a larger diameter y-pipe than stock tend to remove this brace to avoid y-pipe banging. I removed mine and its ok.

My father had a TPI camero driveshaft issue when he was younger, broke at the front and kinda flipped the car. 450 hp (direct port nos all 8 cylinders) on stock driveshaft. Anyways, he said he sure wished his had one that day.
just thought I'd share the horror story with ya. As for me, I think I'll keep mine

LOL!! That stock POS wouldn't stand a chance against a broken drive shaft!

Just buy a driveshaft loop but if you want to keep the tunnel brace then you could actually grind down the area where it is rubbing and use a pry bar to bend it down out of the way.
