just bought a set #65703, woohoo, now just need to find an ORY, or I would have one custom made with a Flowmaster Y merger.

Does anyone know if the 65683 is a welded on merge collector, or just a regular style 4-1 collector. I don't want to deal with slip fit collectors on a car with O2 sensors.

Good deal. I've always liked this set of headers. Looking back I should have gotten them as opposed to my Pacesetters

Edelbrocks are nasty. 1-7/8 stepped with a 3.5" collector. The 65701 stainless version would be sweet too.

yes have it on my 35th.only thing I noticed they kinda hang pretty low to the ground prolly its because of my qa1 coilovers need to be adjusted.as far as headers think they re the best bang for the buck for the price.thinkin of getting another set for my blk one to replace the macs.

ordered12-05-09 headers/ypipe

I wish they made the high flow merge collector in the welded variety, but from what I understand, the welded collector is the standard collector and not the high flow style.

If you get the kind that requires the collector to be welded on do you weld the collector from the outside first, then cut it off so you can get inside to weld the inside parts of the primaries, then weld the collector back on?

I think the "slip collector" is how the Y-pipe comes togather with the headers. Some others have a 3-bolt or ball and socket flange. Most of the headers I've seen have a "slip collector" like SLP, QTP, KOOKS, Pacesetters, American Racing. Headers like BBK and Mac use a ball and socket flange.
All though I maybe wronge on this.
Really need a vendor to chime in on this.

1969mach1, the slip on collector is actually slipping on to the primaries. There's no room for clamps on the primaries which is why they will tend to leak and cause O2 sensor problems.

When you slip a pipe onto the other side of the collector, there's plenty of room for a large clamp and thus no leak.

P/N #65683 states it is for years 2000-2002 but since the are race style I would assume they will work on a 98. Am I correct?
Do these have a place to mount the o2 sensors?
