Question Alternator Alteration!!

Anybody know if a CS-144 case alternator, (the bigger optional alternator) would fit in an ls1 F-body? I believe the factory lower output alternator is
a CS-130d, and there was no factory optional alternator that I know of.
I know this exact operation can be done an LSX truck engine because I've done it and there was plenty of room, but has anybody tried to do this with an F-body accessory drive setup?

I looked, it would appear the electrical connector may be different, and the power steering lines may need to be re-routed, but I don't know if there's enough physical space in the F-car's engine bay for the CS-144.

I searched and scoured the web, and couldn't find a definitive answer on this.
Here's a link to some pictures of the two designs for comparison.

Powermaster 58203 is what I have in mine. I had to clock the Alt housing and move the hard line on the steering rack over a little bit so it would fit. Its listed as a CS-144

Excellent! I figured it could be done, I just wanted to be sure! What about the electrical plug? Did your Powermaster come with an adaptor or did you have to buy or make one? Any pics of install?

I think the AD244 (full size chevy trucks) may be a better fit for the bracket mounts and the no mod electrical connection. Not sure if it will clear in the F-body though.

I did this swap on my 2001 S10 ZR2 Blazer from CS130 to AD244.

Brent.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it! I think the AD 244 is a little closer to what I'm looking for, and if I can actually make it fit, leaves me with a little extra coin for that bottle heater I want! sweeeeet!
