Oil fill tube removal. Am I stupid?

I tried this too when painting my valve covers. I said the hell with it and just taped them up and left them on bc they were being such a pain in the ***.

if you are removing it to install a breather do not do it !!! i removed my filler neck and installed the breather, and the breather kept dripping a little oil on the exhaust manifold because it is on an angle. if you keep the filler neck the breather will be straight and no leaks.
