I believe stock is 75mm and I don't think you would gain anything buy installing a lager throttlebody with the stock intake. I would look into getting a FAST or either have TPIS port the stock LS6 to accept a larger throttlebody.

i would just get a ported tb for the ls6.
theres no point to puting a biger tb on the ls6 but i think an 80mm is the bigest like a bbk.
i have seen one of the sponsors removeing the ls6 snout and puting on a bigger inlet.
i would just save for a fast.

I'm using a PP 85mm TB on my ls6 intake. I opened the mouth of my intake to about 88mm's I wouldn't recommend the adapter the one's that I have seen don't neck down to match the stock ls6 intake opening well at all leaving a lip which looks like it could hinder flow but if you could pick up a fast i'm sure it would be your best option, I would think that a 402 would benefit from the 85mm LS6 intake mod if you have the tools to do it you just won't be able to use your o ring gasket any more but I've never had any issues with the paper gaskets on mine.

i do have the tools to port, hadn't had the tb off intake yet, wasn't sure if there was meterial there to port the opening to fit 85mm, does the paper gasket come with the bbk or to you make one. had been looking for better intake but looks like it's hard to beat the ls6 intake witch is already on my car, fast is better but for the cost i can't justify bying it. then i will put a corvette maf 85mm(there is a 85mm corvette CABLE tb???)

The BBK 80mm will make a little difference in your application, and can be used with the LS6 intake. However you won't see the full benefit until you upgrade to a larger 85mm MAF/Lid. The stock lid/maf will still be your bottle neck.

I would have your factory TB ported. I would spend the money on something that will actually help you gain some power. Just never been a big fan of the aftermarket TB's on stock intakes. A good ported TB will make similar power and save you a couple hundred bucks!

There's enough material there, I ported the opening of my intake to 88mm's, I don't know what's included with the BBK TB's as I have a PP 85mm TB which included the paper gaskets. The stock C5 corvette's TB's are all the same same size as the stock Fbody's they are just electronic instead of cable operation, I also upgraded to a Delphi 85mm MAF it just made sense to have everything 85mm's to me and I would think your 402 would benefit from this mod also.

I have a few threads on this mod with a link to pics of my intake if you are interested that I could dig up. LMk.
