Long story, but a new cop that just moved in across street is raising hell over my car. It's been 5-15 degrees the past few mornings and I let the car warm up a few mins before driving. Mod list is usual bolt on's, x2 cam, etc. Exhaust setup is Pacesetter Long tubes, cattless y pipe and a magnaflow exhaust system.

I guess I am going to have to try and make the car quieter. I am going to try a weld in bullet muffler after the y-pipe first and see how that goes.

Anyone know which bullet style muffler will offer the most sound restriction to help make my neighbors happy??

damn man that sucks. i just got lt's and magnaflow now and when i got pulled over i made sure to shut er off real quick. hope its not too bad with my ms4 tho. how about just putting a cat in the I-pipe?

btw how much louder did the cam make your car thru the rpm range?

I'm surprised with the magnaflow he's complaining... that's one of the quietest mufflers when idling you can use... maybe you can add a couple bullet mufflers, one prior to each exhaust tip, then run a cutout or two before that to make it louder when you like...

I hate cops... sux that he JUST moved in and he's already telling you what you can and can't do with your car

Car enthusiasts don't have a chance in hell in this country... especially if your where I'm at...

IMO, try the nice guy route first.
He has to follow the same laws as anyone else, just make sure he's not violating any laws(no matter how minor) and if he does just return the favor.

If he's complaining about a magnaflow which is one of the quietest exhausts out there, he's the one with a problem, not you.

dude i know what you mean i have a cam with long tubes and no cats with the magnaflow exhaust. it was loud as hell still and had bad drone around 2500-3000. i baught one of magnaflows 4" round stainless mufflers from jegs and put it in....best mod ever. car does not sound any quiter when your on it..just cleaner. At idle is much quiter.

get part number 14619 and dont look back...but that NON cat converter is pretty sweet

Unless there is some sort of sound (decibel) ordinance in your city/county, he can't get you on anything other than no cats. There are good flowing cats out there that have little to no negative impact on HP.

This may be insignificant but, is it possible to park your car with the exhaust facing away from his house. That would help a little if it is actually waking him up or something. The mouse has to out-smart the cat .

If you come across as being a "good guy" and trying to be compliant maybe he will cut you a break when you REALLY need it ...although, that isnt a guarantee.

There is not a db level that a car must maintain around here. We don't even get checked for smog emissions or anything like that yet, we can't enhance an exhaust system.

Sucks but I am going to have to do something. Don't really have the funds right now to re-work the exhaust but I am going to do something to keep the peace around here.

It didn't make it a ton louder, just a lot more pronounced.
