Cool Need some idea's for exhaust....

I am going to be installing pacesetter LT's ceramic coated and a pacesetter ORY. I just can't make up my mind what I want to do after the Y-Pipe. I dont really mind being to loud. I am also looking more for performance than sound, but both would be nice.....

Things that have crossed my mind
-Flowmaster 1 Chamber right off the Y-Pipe with a dump
-Bullet Muffler right off the Y-Pipe with a dump
-Some sort of cat-back setup

Help me out, just don't know what to do.......Oh yea, car is lowered 1.8" front and rear. Thank you

If you haven't already gotten the y-pipe, you should get the new TSP one. I would go with either a hooker or magnaflow catback.

bullet off the ypipe

dynomax intermediate pipe over the axle (get at summit)

bullet painted flat black parallel to the axle with a turn down.

flows like a straight pipe, great clearance, minimal interior resonance

my vote is for #2. i have that setup w/ Hooker headers, a custom ORY, and a Moroso muffler dumped. but if you like a "drag car" loud exhaust, go for the Bullet muffler

I Know This Isn't In Your Options But Have You Considered True Duals? I Had Them On My Car With Bullet Mufflers That Dumped B4 The Rear Axle. It Sounded Great (IMO) And The Performance Was There Too. Just A Thought...

Well I have lowered my car 1.8" and don't think true duals would fit to well under there.....

depends on how you run them.

side by side is about the same clearance as a catback.

Good Point... The People That Put The Exhaust On My Car Weren't To Bright IMO And It Hung Down Way More Than It Should. I Still Had Decent Clearance With It So I'm Sure If You Can Get It Assembled Like It's Supposed To Be And Tuck It Up Then Clearance Shouldn't Be An Issue

since your car is lowered, i would just go ahead with the catback and throw in a cutout. ive tossed around the same idea of getting rid of my magnaflow and going with tru duals. but i dont want to worry about ground clearance. and especially if i maybe go with bigger cubes, and bigger cam running tru duals will be very loud!!

All I Had Was A Whimpy 346 With A Few Mods And My True Duals Were Pretty Loud. I Liked It But It Did Get Annoying Every Once In A While. So If You Looking For Something A Little More Mellow I'd Definitely Go With A Catback

i'm lowered 1.2" with 3" true duals running full size magnaflow 4x9 mufflers dumped before the axle.

i have just shy of 2.5" of clearance under the mufflers.

car is very mellow around town and at idle, but you still know its got a nice cam in it. screams at WOT.

The setup in post #5 would get my vote. Cheap and it' for sure will flow decent, and with the outlet that far back the interior noise should be minimal.

A bullet off the Y pipe works, delta flow flowmaster muffler works too, and if you can get the I pipe done off the Y, a super 44 under the car with a dump sounds good too.

Just make sure whatever you do for a Y has a good merge in it where the 2 sides come together, that's where the choking point usually is that's a problem with 1/2 the Y pipes that are out there.
