i'd say nahh, sure it might let a little more air through but a filter alone isn't going to help you. Free flowing exhaust and intake work, my mileage increased a lot when i don't drive like an ***.

EDIT: i have a K&N filter btw, next time it gets dirty i'm probably switching to fram or something else.

Just get a paper air filter and change it out once a year. Probably won't see any mileage increase either way though.

If there is to much oil on a k&n and it gets on your maf sensor you'll get less gas mileage

On just a filter swap I wouldn't think so. You might pick up 1 or 2 if you didn't the whole FIPK kit but even then I think you would be lucky to get that.

I have a fipk kit on my 94 sonoma 4.3l, my 02 2500hd 6.0l, and I have just the filter in my 01 2.2l. I will have to say i gained no MPG from either. I actuatly get less in the 2500 due to the nice sucking sound of the intake. The reason i have them is because I bought them on fleebay being mispelled in the listing for less than $50.00 shipped. I also had a K&N in my 95 TBI 5.7l silverado and gained nothing as well. There is no way in hell i gonna pay $350 for a kit to gain nothing.

SO will you gain miracles from an airfilter change -- NO

It's a good thing to upgrade too, but it's highly unlikely you will see any noticeable gains.

Yeah, you would be hard pressed. Re-gearing would be the best way to do it. haha, but certainly a drawback to performance.

impossible, unless it was previously clogged. I wouldn't run one unless you like oil in your maf and dirt in your engine.

Dont Do it the oil messes up the AFM. It coats the sensor and it will fail BIG TIME.

I gained slightly in the MPG category, by cleaning my K&N filter. Then again my car had the K&N already on it when I bought it, so I can't really compare if it dropped at all.

If you are comparing a clean paper filter to a clean K&N, you will not see a mileage gain.

If you an air induction mod to increase your MPG, try our FTRA kit (Fast Toys Ram Air Kit). Most people report 5-7 % increases in MPG after installing the kit.
