Default Oil cap in place of oil filler tube

I managed to break the oil filler tube while i had the valve covers off, does anyone know for sure if I can just use the cap instead of the filler tube until i get another filler tube? It appears to fit i just dont want to f-up anything

Edit: car is the one in my signature

its fine run it. looks better than an unsightly black piece of pipe hanging off of your valve cover

+1 I've been running mine like that for over a year. No problem since.

Thanks for the replies, I tried to run it but it seems as though the coil packs prevent it from going in properly.

I switched over to the D585 coils a year ago, which moves them up higher on the valve cover, so I subsequently removed my oil filler tube as well. It looks much cleaner with the oil cap placed directly on the valve cover than having the plastic peice there.

I'll try and get pictures.

Vette covers have the oil cap like that, and have a smaller cap. Picture of mine before I installed.

When doing this will the caps tighten up and or lock in place,,, or does it just kind of sit in place???

Thanks

It locks in place, just as if the filler neck was there.

I made mine work by removing the wire lock on the coil pack. Been working fine for 2 months now no problems. I used a dremel took like 10 seconds.
