160 deg Therostat doesnt fit in stock housing?

Default 160 deg Therostat doesnt fit in stock housing?

I just bought a 160 deg therostat, it does not fit in the stock water neck housing, any ideas? Its a 1999 Z28.

Default thermostat

have you had your water pump changed??? i had the same problem. mine was changed and it was replaced with the newer water pump that's on the gto's. bought that thermostat and fit perfect.

the car had 66k when I bougth it and I never changed it, just got the car 6 months ago. The problem is how the actual thermostat sits on the coolant neck. Its too big for the neck.

ls1 is a specific ls1 thermostat...not a standard sbc stat....

Like was mentioned early their are two style thermostats...just double check your part numbers...

I checked, I need the whole coolant neck with the thermostat built in. I just purchased one, thanks for the help If any one is looking for just the thermostat, I have one for sale, pm me.
