Do intake gaskets swell?

Do intake gaskets swell?
I have recently removed the intake for painting and to fix KR sensor issues and was just wondering this, cause my gaskets don't seem to want to fit back into my intake. Tried freezing them and they still don't fit right. Want to keep popping out. I don't have many miles on the LS6 intake after swaping to it, so I know they are good. Am just going to go ahead and by new ones but just wondering if anyone else has run into this at all?
Thanks.
Thanks.

ya you could but there only like 17 bucks at auto zone i would rather pay 17 bucks then reuse them and find out i have a leak and have to take the intake back off. Its all up to you, if you dont have the money im sure you can get buy with using the one you already have.

true, cheap and might as well be safe.
on the other hand, ive heard that when they designed the LS1 they did this with maintenance in mind, and to be able to pull the TB, intake, valve covers, etc, without the need for new gaskets all the time. i dont think that when you pull parts the gasket is all the sudden ruined (like most in the older generation engines).

I totally agree with you in that just because you pull a part doesn’t mean the gasket is bad. I have personally reused my TB gaskets, and Valve cover gaskets and header gaskets. I guess sometimes you get these that want to swell a little and not go back in the grooves on the part they came off of. The brand new ones I just bought are noticeably smaller and went it perfect, as where the used ones you had to force them and then they wanted to pop out. Both sets were the Felpros as well. I guess some just do better than others. Anyway, glad I bought new ones. One less thing to worry about.

i would guess it's the oil from the pcv system that causes the swelling. this is the reason many gm trucks with the plastic casing around the gasket goes bad i believe. i've done more than a few at my shop.
