Default FAST Valley Cover Bolts?

I need replacement valley cover bolts (button head M8x1.25x30mm) but I cant find them anywhere. I've been to 7 different hardware stores in the area and no one carries the bolt I'm looking for. Home Depot came the closest but it was only in standard thread. I really dont want to spend the money to buy the FAST hardware kit but its looking like i may have too. I need them ASAP!!! so i cant really wait on shipping. Can anyone help me out or guide in the right direction?

I had the same problem, I finally found a place in my hometown that had them though. It ended up being a TrueValue hardware store. I'm not sure what all stores are TrueValue stores but I know AceHardware is. The place I ended up finding them at was HUPP Hardware in my town, but I'm pretty sure it's not a chain store...

I am trying to find them also but have had no luck. I was told the stock bolt heads could be cut in half and used. Has anyone else heard of this?

We can order them for you if you need them. They are pretty cheap. Let me know if you need them!

Home help stores really wont carry hardware for an automobile. I have seen the stock bolts grinded down and work. Fastenal is a great place to start and order hardware suitable for auto use. See what TSP has to offer? Out here hardware stores have everything and they may have it at a lot better pricing than FAST.

I buy them by the box locally from our bolt supplier. If you need them, I can get them to you for a few cents per bolt. Just let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

That would be my recommendation. Fastenal have everything and if they don't have it in the store they will have it in a day or two.

If you don't use the button head cap screws, you take the chance of cracking your intake when bolting it down.
