might buy a Phab exhuast from ebay? opinions??
ive been searching for a new exhaust for my ss and i think im going to go with one of the phab kits from ebay,,,,, unless someone has input that would sway my decision. i like phab because its a complete exhaust with cme for a great price, plus its stainless so its going to last a while. im not really scared of ebay, bought plenty of big ticket items on ebay without an issue so far.
so heres my breakdown of the plus and minuses of getting a phab kit:
PLUS:
stainless steel
CME
made for longtubes
true duel
great price
very low profile mufflers
MINUSE:
possibly dealing with typical ebay problems
If anyone has something to add to the list feel free, i wanna make an informed decision. please lets keep the discussion on to buy PHAB or not to buy PHAB, im not interested in LManything, Borla, Magnaflow ect.
thanks

Is this it? if so i wouldn't get it. Im sure you will have some clearance issues and it will push down on your setup if you ever jack your car from the body. Most true dual setups that exit out the back go over the passenger axle like this

the under axle configuration is very popular and dosnt really cause an issue when jacking the car, hell my LM2 setup causes more problems right now with hitting the driveshaft and torque arm when the car is on a lift. it cost tons less than over the axle, looks pretty good from the back and you dont lose any ground clearance with it vs over axle, i have had quite a few people recommend going under the axle with a true duel set-up.

I thought about that setup when I was doing the exhaust on my car. But, I couldn't find anyone that had it really. So, that, mixed with the price, and not knowing how it'd sound with the "mufflers" they have on there, kind of swayed me more towards just having my shop custom make my whole system for a fraction of the price. I wasn't all that worried about it being stainless.

the link that 1998ls1ss posted IS NOT the system im looking at! that includes stainless longtubes and i agree, 2400 is way overpriced for any exhaust. The kit im looking at is 899 buy it now, but im sure it can be had for close to half that price if you make an offer.
I thought of just going and having a custom exhaust made, but ive never had a great experience with any local shops. eventually something will start to rattle or break loose, the welds all boogered look up because some high schooler thinks he can weld and it just dosnt have any kind of professional look to it, and having stainless is very important to me, cause this is probably the last exhaust i will buy for this car and the LT's are already stainless.

Anyone ever get this exhaust kit? I am looking at this kit as well and also wonder if it is a nice fit etc. I would like to hear from someone who has this and whether it fits right and it isn't sloppy.

Two glaring things...
1. That is gonna be bloody ears loud
2. That is gonna be bloody ears loud with lots of RASP...look at the Y pipe, seems like a sloppy design. Looks like exhaust is gonna be smashing itself at the Y, not a nice looking merge.
SLP loudmouth is much better system and much cheaper.

Does it sound good? Yes
Raspy with manifolds? Yes
Fit good? Fit perfect except the tips which had slightly larger inlets than they were supposed to be. 2.7" instead of 2.5" if I remember correctly.
I bought mine on an ebay auction for $285 shipped and love it. The only complaint I have is that I didn't get LTs yet.
And I know this is an old thread but thought someone could use the info

I know this is an old thread, but i figure maybe some more people have gotten this setup by now! I am looking at the entire setup longtubes, Y and catback. I been talking to the manufacturer and i can get everything for a little over $600. LPP is about to do another run of their longtubes but they are 650 for just the headers and ypipe! Anybody have a clip of it idleing except the white t/a backing into his garage?
heres a pic of my current setup its factory manifolds with a flowmaster catback and some $80tips from the guys Yonaka on eBay
