Default Whistling Noise, Help.

I installed a FAST intake last year, high flow fuel rails, new injectors, all that jazz. Anyways, after my first highway drive a whistling noise started. I listened to it for a long time, because it never affected driveability or anything. I figured out that it starts out after the engine has been idling a while, because the pressure has to build up first. After I shut the engine off the whistling noise wanes out to a high pitched whistle, and the Whoosh...It sounds like my engine is letting out a sigh or relief. It sounds like the noise is coming from the lower front of the engine, and is not coming from the intake. Anyone ever heard this noise or what it could be?

I thought it was the AC, so I removed the belt to test it. Nope. Not the AC.

might just be the resonace noise from the airflow through the intake since there is no insulation underneath the base for the intake, like the stock ls1 intake.

I thought it might be the PCV Valve. I'll have to check it. Maybe putting new heads on it will solve the problem. Any excuse to get some heads, right?

I'm thinking intake orings. My truck is doing the exact same thing. It sucked the oring in, which is common on vortecs.

You ever figure it out? I have a FAST 78 that is doing the same exact thing. I heard that the 78's whistled even with no vacuum leak.

did you change out the bolts to the valley cover or grind them down? this can be the cause of many problems of the fast intake.

My air pump whistles when it's running. Of course that's only for a couple mins when first started up, but still, when it shuts off it sounds like an airplane shutting down at the gate.

Yup, I did. Ive found several posts about the FAST intake whistling because of poor design on the inside of the intake. Apparently it is quite common and the porters like Tony Mamo know how to make the noise go away.

Yeah that sucks all that cash on a fast (even when used) and then you got to fork out even more for port work, tony mamo does great things with the fast intakes it would be worth it
