MAP sensor loose...???
I just swapped to a FAST 90 intake manifold. When I was re-installing everything, I noticed that my MAP sensor doesn't fit in this intake nearly as tightly as it did in my stock intake.
Is this a common issue? Is it something that needs to be fixed, or is it a non-issue?

another solution is to use a cotter pin, slip it in between the sensor and he little groove in the hold down clip.then bend one end around like you normally wold on a cotter pin. works like a charm, no need for glue or anything, I did put a little silicon around the gasket just for extra insurance.

That's the thing about the fast 90-92..it doesn't have the clip molded into it for holding the map sensor in place like the stock intake. I just did one on a 92, I used some high quality rtv that was o2 sensor safe, worked good.

ah sorry yeah, it wouldn't work on a FAST intake. But for the LS1/LS6 intakes, a cotter pin will fix the loose MAP issue. I gave it a run with the cotter pin holding it down and it's just crazy how much better the car runs, I guess under throttle the MAP was being pushed out or leaking one way or the other.
It pushed through the brakes constantly and idled a bit high, seemed very lacking at low/part throttle as well as sputtering up top. Fixing the loose MAP cured it all.

go to the auot parts and tell the counter guy you want a thicker o-ring for your MAP sensor. explain to him what your trying to accomplish here and I'm sure they will find you a o-ring is thicker and will fit the sensor. that should fill in the looseness you feel. 6 months ago I had that same issue on the PP intake, ended up installing a thicker 0-ring and I have not had issues since.
